organization as well as a registered charity, Discovery Routes' main
responsibilities are to create, maintain, and promote multi-seasonal
trails in the Near North region of Ontario.
Discovery Routes is a volunteer partnership of community leaders,
economic developers, environmental stewards and locally-based action
groups. Discovery Routes’ region includes the area from
Mattawa to West Nipissing, and from Magnetawan north to Marten River. Check out a Google Map of our trails
The Great Heritage Trails Photography Contest! To encourage people to get out and enjoy some of the great trails around town and give their camera a work out, starting early in the Spring and running through to October, entrants will have the opportunity take pictures including snow, spring flowers, full greens of summer and Fall colours. Trailsnorth is hosting their own springtime photo contest. The contest will start May 1, 2008, weather permitting, to run until June 13, 2008, with final selections and winners declared on June 14, 2008. For contest rules, please visit their website.
