MAY

 

Saturdays in May - 9:00 am

Laurier Woods Guided Walks

Friends of Laurier Woods will be providing guided hikes on the Laurier Woods trails every Saturday in May.  Take this chance to view spring birds, turtles, and early wildflowers.  Those interested are asked to meet at the Brule Street entrance at 9:00 am.

 

May 9 - 10, 2008  - Begins at 5:00 pm on Friday

VMUTS Spring Rally

The Rally begins with a night ride on Friday, May 9, with registration between 5:00pm and 6:00pm at the Legion in Mattawa.  Two ride options are available on Saturday, ending with a dinner at the Legion, and the registration fee includes a free trail pass for Sunday.

Magnetawan Wood'n'Things Rendezvous - Wood Artisan's Showcase

This event takes place at the Magnetawan Community Centre and Pavilion.  Tickets are available at Magnetawan Bait & Tackle, Magnetawan Inn, Summer's Attic, B.F. Welcome Centre, and Zak's in Sundridge.

Tim Horton's Community Clean Up Day

The Community Clean Up Day will focus on several communities in North Bay, probably including Marshall Park Drive, McKeown Avenue, and Trout Lake Road.  Tim Horton's will pitch in gloves, a few t-shirts, and coffee and donuts for the early risers.

The North Bay-Mattawa Conservation Authority is aiming to raise awareness of the planet's diversity and to foster an appreciation of animals and plants that inhabit the Earth.  This program is separated into a school component program, and an evening program that is open to the public.

JDRF - TELUS Walk to Cure Diabetes

Registration is from 8:30 - 9:45 am and the walk begins at 10:00 am.  Come out and join the hundreds of supporters who rally together to not only to raise money to support juvenile diabetes research, but to enjoy the fun-filled day.  Help us to rid the world of diabetes the money raised by this walk will be our catapult throwing diabetes far, far away.

This triathlon is for kids, ages 6-15 years old and is taking place at the Olmstead Beach on Lakeside Drive.

North Bay Triathlon - North Bay Cycling Club

This triathlon includes 1 km of swimming, 32 km of biking, and 8.4 km of running, and begins at the Olmstead Beach on Lakeside Drive.  This event can be completed as an individual or as part of a team. 

Before June 1, the fee for and individual participant is $50, and after June 1, the fee increases to $65.  For teams, the fee before June 1 is $99, with an increase to $120 after June 1.
